About irregular cycles

  1. Common causes of a late period

The menstrual cycle is not always perfect. The brain and the ovaries are connected, and they are very sensitive to what is going on in your day to day.

Common causes of a late period

Ongoing stress, sudden changes to your sleep, travel; changes in weight or intense exercise; hormonal conditions such as PCOS, thyroid problems, high prolactin or perimenopause; and side effects of medication, among others.

These variations do not automatically mean something is wrong. They are your body giving you information. If the difference in days keeps repeating, or comes with other symptoms, we recommend booking an appointment with your doctor.
